Goochland Cotillion Registration
Registration has begun for the 2010-2011 session of the Goochland Cotillion. Over eight sessions, children and young adults from ages 10-14 will receive instruction in ballroom dancing and etiquette.
Instruction will include:
- Basic dance courtesies, such as accepting and declining a dance
- Basic steps of the Waltz, Fox-Trot, Cha Cha, Swing, Rhumba, and current popular line dances
- An appreciation of music for dancing
- Basic dance partnering skills
- Holding a conversation with an adult
- Using good table manners
- Answering the telephone properly and taking careful messages
- Showing self-control in public places
- Taking responsibility for keeping their environment neat
- Standing when an adult enters the room
- Planning for on-time arrival for meals and appointments
