Artists, artisans, and other vendors are invited to apply for spaces at the Adams International School Fall Festival on October 16, 2010, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

LOCATION: 1655 Broad Street Road, Maidens, VA – At the intersection of Broad Street Road and Fairground Road. Vendors will enter through the second driveway on the left, off of Broad Street Road.

SPACE SIZE: 20’ X 20’ – Parking for oversized vehicles is available. Set up begins at 8:00 a.m. and spaces are to be clean and clear by 6:00 p.m. Tables, chairs, and tents will not be provided, so please remember to bring your own.

SPACE PRICE: $20.00. Rain or Shine! Make checks payable to “Adams International School.” Send application with check or money order to: 1655 Broad Street Road, Maidens, VA 23102. Application and payment are due by September 30, 2010.

Goochland Cotillion Registration

Registration has begun for the 2010-2011 session of the Goochland Cotillion. Over eight sessions, children and young adults from ages 10-14 will receive instruction in ballroom dancing and etiquette.

Instruction will include:

Basic dance courtesies, such as accepting and declining a dance
Basic steps of the Waltz, Fox-Trot, Cha Cha, Swing, Rhumba, and current popular line dances
An appreciation of music for dancing
Basic dance partnering skills
Holding a conversation with an adult
Using good table manners
Answering the telephone properly and taking careful messages
Showing self-control in public places
Taking responsibility for keeping their environment neat
Standing when an adult enters the room
Planning for on-time arrival for meals and appointments

Montessori Primary Education Video

Parents may be interested in this remarkable video that was produced by the American Montessori Society. It offers a ten minute introduction to the strengths of a Montessori education and how the children build sophisticated knowledge through their work with the Montessori materials. Each provides an impressive introduction to the typical day of a Montessori student as well as the impressions of parents and former Montessori students.

Adams International School is pleased to announce the inclusion of Coach Hall's Artist Training Camp in our line-up of exciting upcoming activities.

Looking for summer art lessons in a unique environment with a focus on nature? Look no further than Coach Hall’s Artist Training Camp at the Adams International School. The Artist Training Camp provides an art learning experience unlike any other in the Richmond area.

Children from preschool age up to high school will receive art instruction from some of the best art educators in the area. From beginning painting to college portfolio development, these young artist will receive hands-on, small class instruction.

Just 15 minutes west of Short Pump, with 131 beautiful wooded acres in Goochland, Adams International School offers educational opportunities for students to learn while in the beauty of the great outdoors.
